As most of you know we recently made a big move. My family and I are now living in Santiago, Chile. It's been a crazy last couple months, hence, the lack of posts. I thought I'd give up this blog for a while at least. Lately, I've been thinking about photography again and how I've miss it. I had a crazy last month before our move. I still have a few photo shoots from that month that never got posted. I've decided I'll keep up this blog off and on posting some of the shoots I never posted and some new pictures from our adventures here in Chile.

So, here is the first post from my new home.

This is how we've been spending our December days; lounging in the backyard enjoying the sun and the pool.

And here is a few from a shoot I did in the month before we left. How could I have left this little cutie off my blog for this long!!!

It was so fun to meet this family! I love having a job where I get to meet and interact with such amazing people. I left the photo shoot truly excited for what my family will be like 5+ years down the road. I love having babies around but, it will be so great when our kids are old enough to go and do fun activities as a family, without having to tote around a diaper bag!

Look at these three handsome boys! Michelle, you have your hands full now - and for the next 20 years. I grew up with 4 brothers, our house was always crazy. It makes for a fun house though, never a dull moment!

We're moving!

I'm so sad to say that we're moving! We got word last week from my husband's company that we will be relocating to Santiago, Chile for the next two years. I can't believe it! I'm excited, nervous, sad, all at the same time. Because of the move I will only be doing photo shoots through the first of October. I am very limited on the dates I have opened for photo shoots before our move. If your interested in some pictures let me know ASAP and we'll see if we can work something out. I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of my clients over the past two years. I have loved developing this talent and being able to photograph memories for some of you. I'm sad to leave this business but, excited for our families new adventure.

This is my husband's brother and his family. They came out to visit all of us here is Utah over the 4th of July. My kids love it when they come. All they want to do is play with there cousins. We wish you guys lived closer. We need to plan our trip to Monterey, we're going through withdrawal not having you guys here!

This is one of my best friends in the entire world and her family. Kristin and I have been friends since high school, so many good memories. Now we're all grown up and have husbands and kids. Crazy how the time flies. Kris, you and Jeremy have the cutest little family - I love you guys!

For the last five weeks we've been vacationing in Chile. My husband does a lot of business in Latin America and for the month of June the kids and I got to join him. We had an amazing experience. We meet incredible people and travelled to some awesome places. Hard to leave a month long vacation but, good to be back on American soil and home to my family, friends and washing machine.

It's been a chore getting back into blogging. I've had so many other things to put into place I've had to put the blog on the back burner. I thought my first post back I'd post some pics of our trip. So, here's a few!

La Serena, a beach town about 5 hours north of Santiago.

Valle Nevado, a ski resort 1 1/2 hours from Santiago in the Andes Mountains. We spent a weekend skiing - in June!

Vina Del Mar, another beach town about 1 hour north of Santiago. My kids loved these bikes!

We've been busy around our house. We had a birthday, a party, a wedding, a couple bridal showers, a vacation, and a husband/dad out of town. Trying to keep up with everything as of late hasn't been easy. Sorry for my blog neglect. I did get a few recent pictures of my kids. Yeah! So, until I have some more time to post other pics here's a few of my three little munchkins. These are my three inspirations, the reasons why I got interested in photography. Oh, how I love these kids.

And By the way - this orchard is beautiful right now. If any of you out there want your pictures taken at this beautiful place, now is the time to do it. The blossoms are just starting to bloom. For the next few weeks I think the orchard will be heavenly!

Jennica, the cute girl in the first BW picture surrounded by her four brothers, is my brother Cameron's friend. I just love her! She is the most sincere, sweet, giving person I know.
I'm so glad I got to meet your family, Jen. I'm amazed you survived a childhood with all older brothers. I at least had a leg up, I was older then my four brothers so I could boss them around. In all honesty, brothers are the best and I'm sure yours spoiled you. Now you get to look forward to four amazing sister-in-laws (you've lucked out with the two you have already, they're great!).

Beautiful couple, right? This is my little bro and my soon to be sister-in-law. We actually had decent weather until the end of the shoot. Over the weekend I got to shoot my first wedding with my friend Jessie. Who, by the way, is awesome to hang out with and an amazing photographer.
I never knew how much I'd enjoy taking pictures of a couple in love on their wedding day. It was so much fun! I love photographing the wedding details and the candid interactions of the bride and groom. And I must say these two were very easy going, fun people to photograph. The pictures below are just a few of the SO MANY I took that day.
Now I'm just waiting for the next time I'm lucky enough to photograph a bride a groom. I can't wait!

Well, it is the beginning of a new year and time to reflect on the last. I started this little photo biz last year. What a great experience it has been. I got my first (nice) camera two years ago and I think I haven't put it down since. I guess except when I lost it - those two weeks were miserable! I started getting into photography about four years ago when my husband got me photoshop for Christmas and registered me for a class at UVSC. I can credit my photo obsession to him I guess. Since that time I've taken numerous classes, spent hours researching on the internet (what would we do without that invention?!), read books, talked to other photographers, and played around with my camera and photo equipment for hundreds of hours. I feel so blessed to share one of my loves with all of you! Thank you for your comments, for letting me take pictures of your families, and for enjoying my work. In 2009 I only hope things go as well as they did this year. I never thought posting my pictures on a blog would really turn into a business. But, it did and I am loving it! I hope to continue to learn, grow and improve through this next year.

My in-laws wanted pictures of the grandkids while they were all in town for the holidays. Nine kids under nine - six of those under three. Let me tell you, it was a lot of fun. I think because three of them our mine and the rest are a little too comfortable with me, none of them wanted to pay attention and half of them cried. So, I've been editing; switching heads of kids not looking, crying, etc. I'm still in the process but, thought I'd post one of the pictures that I thought turned out cute. Here's my Noah with his Papa.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! What a way to ring in the new year. I got to take pics of this awesome family and "my name sake", baby Lindsey, last week. They are neighbors, friends, and my husband Jake works with John (so we have people to hang out with at work parties). If anyone out there needs parenting lessons give these guys a call. They have the most well behaved kids I've ever met!

By the way, in case you're interested, I did all of the pictures in their home using natural light. I used to think I wanted to buy some lights and have a mini little studio in my house, who knows maybe someday I still will. But, for the moment I am loving window light. It has such a soft, natural feel. With the right window and time of day, you can do amazing things with window light.

I love referrals! Thanks to my friend Laura, I got to meet this amazing family. These two little boys wanted nothing to do with the camera. These little girls are three months old and just perfect. I didn't realize how hard it would be to take pictures of two babies at once! One's hard enough - TWO is double the trouble. Talk about good neighbors - well here they are! My Sophie and Noah love playing with these kids. We share backyards - literally. So, I pretty much begged my friend to let me take pictures of her sweet, new, baby girl. I needed to practice on another newborn. They're my favorite!!! All of you out there need to start having more babies. And then you need to get in touch with me so I can come over and "practice" on your little ones. How can you go wrong taking pictures of these sweet things -they're just so perfect! And Little Remi is no exception. Isn't she beautiful! I went through some old pictures the other day of Will when he was born. I can't believe I hadn't edited these yet! I guess life was pretty crazy for the month or two after he was born. Will's great, he just had a little trouble breathing for the first few days and his sugar levels were a little low. I miss this newborn stage, it went by way too fast.

So, many of you heard the bad news already. For those that haven't here it is. I lost my camera! We went out of town about three weeks ago and I left my camera on the airplane. I've been kicking myself and crying for the past couple weeks. But, even though my stomach is still churning, I can't help but be excited about my new camera that just arrived last weekend! I love having a camera again! And I'm so ready to start taking pictures. So, sorry about putting a few of you on hold, I'm now ready to start shooting!

First of all, this is what almost attacked us during the photo shoot. I think it could have eaten us all alive! Sorry for endangering the lives of your children. Honestly, this is the biggest black widow I have ever seen.

But, no harm done. We all survived and we got some great pictures. Leena is the mother of the two beautiful twins. Mick (sorry,spelling!?:) ) and Tiffany are Leena's brother and sister-in-law. They are visiting from Boston with their kids. Lucky for me I got to meet these two awesome families and take their pictures. I had so much fun with you guys and I'll have my brother shoot you an email. Maybe you can give him some Boston advice and a few medical tips. Thanks guys!

Little girls - I love 'em. They are just so sweet. After a few tries (: we finally meet up to take pictures of these adorable little girls, who are cousins to Tate and and his baby brother Dylan (you can view their photo shoot a few posts back). What cute grandkids, you can tell the good genes are being passed down!

Thanks to all those who have visited the blog, had pictures taken, and referred their friends and family. I'm appreciative and overwhelmed! The summer is filling up fast. Thank you all for spreading the word. Not only have I had a lot of fun but I've learned a lot along the way.

I don't know about all of you but, my kids fight. Don't get me wrong, I know they love each other. But, my little girl is known for her teasing and my two year old likes to whine and scream (not a good combination). These two kids however, made me wonder if there is an exception to the all to familiar fighting between siblings. They were so pleasant and happy with each other. Maybe they just have great parents - I could use some lessons!

Here's my little Will in an example card. At the moment I am offering 5x7 photo cards (printed on luster high quality photo paper), and paper cards printed on both sides in sizes 5x7 or 5x5. The double sided cards give you options of 4 different papers (I printed my baby's on linen paper - it turned out great!). They're awesome because you can print on each side, allowing you to use more pictures and put more information on them. All cards come with white envelopes. I do custom designs for each individual client. These are great for birth announcements, graduation announcements, Christmas cards, birthday invitations, or wedding announcements. These two are some of my favorite kids. Thanks Cam for the props. I've been editing these photos today and I just can't stop, they all turned out so good! We literally had people stopping their cars to check out how cute Brytan was posing for the first pic. Now you all can see what they were stopping for - I love it!

Shiloh's mom, Lisa, and I grew-up together. AHHH, the memories of good old Orem. This little one year old did great getting her pictures taken. She even looked at the camera with a big smile a few times (just what her Dad wanted for Father's Day!). See Lisa, nothing to worry about.

Aren't boys the greatest! What a beautiful baby and check out Tate's gorgeous ice blue eyes. Twelve years from now I'm sure there's going to be a lot of teenage girls hanging around these two. I love doing newborn pictures. I think this little newborn made only one tiny peep the entire shoot. What a great baby!

This little girl can pose. Sophia was so pleasant, happy and willing to get her pictures taken. Her mom wanted a bunch of head shots, which I just love. Because of this rainy, bummer weather we were limited to inside shots. And the yard was so amazingly beautiful, if only the weather would have cooperated. Not to worry though, we got some great head shots of little Sophia. Hope you like them Marcie!

Our friends just adopted this beautiful baby boy. After waiting and waiting they finally got him here. He couldn't have come to a more deserving family. "Baby Jakey", as his big sis likes to call him, is the cutest baby I've ever seen. I'm so excited for you guys, congratulations!

This is a sneak peek of what's coming! I'm so excited to start offering these amazing cards. They are great for any occasion; birthday invitations, baptism announcements, birth announcements, wedding invitations, save the date cards, holiday greetings, etc. I will be offering a few different sizes and styles; 5x5 and 5x7 folded cards, 5x5 and 5x7 flat cards, and 5x5 trifold cards. All cards come with custom designs(by me), and are printed on all sides of the card (so 5x5 and 5x7 flats are printed front and back - not just on the front like a photo card). You can choose to have your cards printed on standard, slightly gloss cover stock paper, or premium pearl paper, which has a metallic like sheen. Both options are great, but I am loving the pearl! Cards can only be bought in packages of 25 (sorry this isn't my idea it's the printers). I will have more information in the weeks to come, pricing, more designs, etc - so keep checking in. Below are a few examples of the 5x5 trifold (with pictures of my cute little nephew Owen).

This is my little man. I told myself I would try and not post too many pictures of my own kids on this blog but, how could I resist! I've been looking for good places to take pictures, (I am so ready for the weather to warm up!) and I found this sweet rock wall! I love it! Noah had fun playing in the puddles and throwing rocks. In the meantime I was able to get a few pics of him. Such a nice day, I can't wait for Spring!

This new little guy is my nephew, isn't he beautiful?! He finally arrived and we're so excited he's here. He was so good for his pictures. He hardly made a peep, and he only peed on his Mom once! Handsome and a good baby, this kids parents really lucked out!
